Care Guide
CARE GUIDE (HOW NOT TO RUIN YOUR ART)
You bought some pretty dope stuff. Now, treat the piece with the respect it deserves so it lasts as long as you do. (Because seriously, it's a long time)
1. Where to hang it? (Natural Enemies)
-
Sunlight: Direct sun is the worst enemy of pigments. If you leave the frame where the sun shines brightly all day, the colors will fade and the paper may yellow. Choose a place with indirect light.
-
Humidity: Be careful with walls that suffer from leaks. Paper is organic, even if it's photographic and thick, humidity can cause mold or make the art start to "wave" inside the frame.
2. Cleaning (No chemicals)
Golden rule: Never use alcohol, glass cleaner, or any chemical product directly on the frame or glass. These products can seep inside and destroy the print.
-
Glass: Use only a dry microfiber cloth. If it's very dirty, dampen the cloth slightly (very slightly indeed) with water and wipe gently.
-
Acetate: It scratches very easily, so be surgical. Use only soft microfiber.
-
Frame: A duster or dry cloth is enough. Don't improvise.
3. Handling
Whenever you move the frame, hold it by the sides with both hands. Avoid touching the print surface directly (if it's unframed) to prevent leaving natural skin oils on the paper.
4. Tips for Digital Downloads
If you bought the digital file, the final quality depends on you. To maintain the EmptyWolfz essence, I recommend:
-
Paper: Use paper with a weight superior to 200g (Matte Coated, Matte Photographic).
-
Finish: Always choose Matte. Excessive gloss takes away the depth of dark art and reflects light where it shouldn't.
